Sake Institute of Ontario announces Educational Event on National Sake Day October 1 featuring Head Brewer Greg Newton

The following announcement has been released by Sake Institute of Ontario:

On Monday, Oct 1st, the Sake Institute of Ontario (SIO) will be celebrating ‘Nihonshu no Hi’ (National Sake Day) – the start to the new brewing season in Japan – with an intimate, fun, and informative Sakebrewing Seminar & Tasting Event.
Please join us at: Yuzu no Hana Sushi & Sake Bar (236 Adelaide St. W.) 6:30pm-8:30pm
Three brewery representatives will be our guides into the ancient craft of sakebrewing.  Greg Newton, Head Brewer of Ontario Spring Water Sake Co., our local brewery in The Distillery, will present on the core elements of sakebrewing.  Also attending will be Kozaemon the 14th, CEO of Nakashima Sake Brewing Co. from Gifu, Japan, a family-owned brewery founded in 1702, and Mr. Fukui, Export Manager for Tamanohikari Sake Brewing Co. of Kyoto, Japan.  We will have sakes on hand to taste from Izumi, Kozaemon, and Tamanohikari, plus many other current releases from Ontario’s top sake importers.  Sushi + light catering will be provided by Yuzu no Hana.
