Kagami-biraki is a traditional Japanese ceremony where a sake barrel is opened to celebrate good fortune. It symbolizes new beginnings and is often performed at weddings, openings, and special events.
Rental Fee
- $150 + HST for 3 nights
**Late fee is $30 + HST per night.
**Must be prepaid by credit card.

Reservation Process
Please reserve your spot at least 3 weeks prior to the event.
Email info@ontariosake.com with your preferred date, and time.
Once the reservation is approved, we will send a rental agreement and credit card authorization form.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made more than 10 days before the scheduled date will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations within 10 days of the scheduled date are non-refundable.
Replacement Fee
The lid is pre‑broken, so there is no need to hit it hard. A firm tap is enough to create a nice sound without disturbing the sake inside the steel insert. However, if any of the rented items are damaged, the replacement values are as follows:
- Straw-covered barrel: $525.00
- Metal Insert: $25.00
- Mallet: $45.00
- Hapi Coat: $120.00
- Ladle: $65.00
- Pre-broken lid: $45.00
